Control and freedom in China
UF Stockholm invites you for a seminar to broaden your perspective on the current and future China who has grown drastically the last decades. Fredrik Fällman, Ph.D in Sinology, will introduce us on Chinas history as well as the present situation.
Since 1995 the trade between China and Africa has grown significantly. China is often referred to as the next superpower in world politics and economics, but what does China’s ambitions look like and how will China handle the demands for human rights? What are the implications of Google’s announcement that it won’t censor any hits on its search engine? And what about last years’ Uyghur riots in Xinjiang? Fredrik Fällman will help us to build an understanding of China and its challenges.

Time: 4.15 pm to 5.45 pm
Location: Room D8, Stockholm University
