Projektledare sökes till Utrikespolitiskt Konvent 2012
In spring 2012 the Swedish Association of International Affairs (UFS) will host the 4th and annual conference on international affairs on the theme of Security and Resources. The purpose of the conference is to create a forum for debate on the given theme, in a U(p)F format. Deadline for applications is 30 April.Previous conferences have been held on the themes of Sweden and the EU (Södertörn, 2008), Global Development (Gothenburg, 2010), and Religion and Politics (Uppsala, 2011). This year’s theme – Security and Resources – was decided during the UFS Forum Dag on 2 April, 2011, by voting members from local UF associations. It is purposely broad in order to leave scope for the project group to shape it in its own way.
The location of the conference is decided by the project group in agreement with the UFS board. UFS is now looking for three project managers to take on the task of planning, coordinating and realizing the conference of 2012. The project, which is implemented under the support and supervision of the board, represents a broad responsibility and takes place on a non-profit basis. It is also a unique learning opportunity and a good experience resulting in an exceptional network of contacts.
The project group works independently and chooses its own working methods. You can apply as a group or individually. There is no official requirement of U(p)F membership. You are however expected to be comfortable with, and interested in, tasks such as:
- Shaping the theme and format of the conference
- Contacting/booking speakers
- Organizing workshops, exhibition, debates
- PR and marketing
- Practical planning – venues, meals, registrations, travel and accommodation
- Fundraising
- Budget responsibility
- Evaluation and documentation
- And above all the supervision and coordination of all involved in the work
Submit your application (CV and cover letter) to the UFS Board Chair Frida Vernersdotter, ordf@ufsverige.org. Same address for questions. Deadline for applications is 30 April, 2011.
