The two previous conferences were carried out in Södertörn 2008 and in Gothenburg between 5-6th of March 2010, and as of now the planning for the next conference will begin. The conference is planned to take place during spring 2011. The theme was determined during the SAIA Forum Dag March 7 th 2010 on the basis of a democratic spirit and with the members voting on different suggestions. As a result the theme will be Religion and Politics.
SAIA is now looking for two project managers and a financial officer
Together they will be responsible for the event by setting up and coordinating working groups on different responsibilities, manage the finances and plan for the practical implementation of the conference itself. We’re looking for interested and committed people who are eager to take on the above advertised positions. The project, which is implemented under the supervision of the board, represents a broad responsibility and takes place on a non-profit basis, but it’s also a learning process that provides and creates tremendous experience and contacts .
To apply the reader should be comfortable with and interested in coordinating tasks such as:
Reservations for programs and people
Organizing of workshops, exhibition, debates
PR and Marketing
Practical planning – premises, meals, registrations, travel and accommodation
Finding money, prioritize budget
And above all the supervision and coordination of all involved in the work.
Foreign Policy Conference 2011 will be what we make of it! It could be just the same, totally different, smaller, larger, wider or narrower than the previous conferences. We will decide and then work together to make it happen – would you like to be a part of it?
Please send your application to the SAIA Board Chairman Tamuz Hidir ordf@ufsverige.org, and let us know what position you are interested in, who you are and why you think you are suitable for the job. Deadline for applications is 28 March 2010.
