Sexual Violence in Conflict: Acknowledgement and action

UF Stockholm is hosting a seminar with Margot Wallström and Lena Ag on the topic Sexual Violence in Conflict. Margot Wallström is the United Nations Special Representative of the Secretary General on Sexual Violence in Conflict. In this capacity, she serves as Chair of the inter-agency network, UN Action Against Sexual Violence in Conflict (UN Action). As a special representative, Margot Wallström and her team has played a major role in the implementation of a number of resolutions in the UN Security Council related to strengthening women’s rights and the recognition of sexual violence in conflict.
Lena Ag is the Secretary General of the Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation, a network organisation collaborating with women’s organisations around the world who play an active part in peace and rebuilding processes. Among other issues, Kvinna till Kvinna is working to promote and strengthen women’s health issues and sexual and reproductive rights. The network was awarded The Right Livelyhood Award in 2002.
