US Ambassador speaks on “Afghanistan: A Shared Mission to Support Successful Transition”

Tuesday April 3, 10-11 AM, Aula Magna, Stockholm University

United States Ambassador Mark Brzezinski will share the vision of how the United States and partners in the international coalition in Afghanistan will support Afghan authorities in continuing the gradual transition of security responsibilities throughout the country.

Having recently returned from consulting with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and other senior officials in Washington, and hosting U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Marc Grossman in Stockholm, Ambassador Brzezinski will address the latest thinking on the international plans and challenges in Afghanistan, and also preview the upcoming NATO summit in Chicago, where NATO members and partner countries, including Sweden, will determine the next phase of the transition.

Questions from the audience will be moderated by Professor Jan Hallenberg from the Department of Political Science at Stockholm University.
