Filmdag 20 april
Utrikespolitiska Föreningen Stockholm, Cinema Politica och Föreningen för Utvecklingsfrågor är stolta att presentera filmdagen som är en del av temadagarna Hållbar utveckling i ett globalt perspektiv. Nedan ser du schemat för onsdagen den 20 april.Filmdagen kommer att hålla till i sal F11.
10.00-11.30 Under rich earth
Under Rich Earth is a story about ordinary people with extraordinary courage. In a remote mountain valley in Ecuador, coffee and sugarcane farmers face the dismal prospect of being forced off their land to make way for a mining project. Unprotected by the police and ignored by their government, they prepare to face down the invaders on their own.
12.30 End of suburbia
Documentary showing the consequences of rising oil prices and higlights how oil dependent today’s society really is. Oil affects the society in more ways than you could imagine – on every level. What happens when oil revenues are depleted? Read more.
13.30 Etanol
An intensive search for environmental friendly fuels is an ongoing process. “Etanol” is a documentary about ethanol as the “green” alternative to oil. Ethanol is produced in large plantations in Brazil. Is it really a sustainable solution?
14.30 Garbage Warrior
A eco-friendly community? See the documentary about architect Michael Reynolds and his dram about a society in harmony with nature, and the conflicts between him and the authorities. Read more.
16.30 Age Of Stupid
It’s year 2055. The film shows the world in future when climate change became a reality. It also looks back to the year 2008 and asks the question of why we didn’t do anything when we still had the chance. Read more. The movie ”Age of Stupid” is presented together with Föreningen för Utvecklingsfrågor, who will hold a dicsussion around the impact of human kind on the environment.
